London: Jack, 1911 - 1913. 4 volumes, First (bound) editions. 4to, 449pp; 540pp; 609pp; 692pp. 200 colour plates of birds and birds' eggs, numerous b&w plates. Original brown cloth, red morocco title labels with gilt titling. Bindings rather rubbed, corners worn, title labels rubbed with some loss of surface leather, cloth cracking (and repaired) to edges of spine of volume 4, final page to volume 1 creased, some evidence of fingering to fore-edges. This set was formerly in the Cheltenham College Library and has their bookplate on all four pastedowns; labels have been removed from the feet of the spines of all four volumes leaving faint traces.
