Guidott (Thomas) Chapman (Henry) A collection of treatises relating to the city and waters of Bath.
4 engraved plates, 1 of which folding, 1 engraved full page text illustration, contemporary full speckled calf, joints beginning to crack, headcap missing, raised bands, red gilt label in second compartment, wonderful engraved presentation bookplate from Wm. Mountaine Esq. to Burnt-Yates School, Parish of Ripley, West Riding dated 1715 pasted onto front pastedown, second edition, 1725 With six separate titlepages dated, 1724-25. Each treatise is of the second edition except, "The lives and characters of the physicians of Bath" and "Thermę redivivę". This latter is the only contribution by Chapman. The pagination and signatures are continuous throughout. The treatises themselves seem to include everything from the antitquities of Bath to the uses and abuses of bathing.
