Provenance Notes
Bought from John Robertshaw at the Oxford PBFA fair. He'd acquired a very large library of Middle Hill press publications and described them in his catalogue 101. These had formerly been owned by Krauss of New York. Asking £16000 for the lot until end October, after which he'd sell individually. At the fair he was just selling duplicates. In the catalogue he had the 2 vols with all 26 plates for £320. At the fair he was offering Vol I with plates and a separate set of plates only for II - both in boards. He reduced the asking price from £130 to £40 & £75. Initially I wanted to buy just the II plates but later decided to take both items.
