HISTORY OF BATH, 1801, WITH 57 PLATES.










The History of Bath. By Richard Warner.
 Bath; R. Cruttwell, 1801. Dimensions; large size- 310 by 243mm. Pages; VI, 402, (2), 123, (1). The binding has been put together again, included with more plates. 55 plates total (2 hand coloured) plus a fold out plan of Bath, and hand coloured frontispiece, some plates late 19th century tinted and a few others, a few 18th century. Lacks 1 listed plate situated at 218, would have had more plates at one time as there are a few areas with tissue guards but no plates (still contains more than the others up for sale). 
Full leather binding, rebacked, wear and rubbing, binding is secure, colour on front cover faded. Text complete, no loss. Bright and tidy internally, light age toning and marking in places, staining around the margins of the last couple pages.
Gilt morocco presentation label on the inside of the front endpaper (Dr. Charles A. Marsh, Bath Panel Committee). Hand coloured frontispiece portrait of the author, plates of antiquites, hand coloured portrait of Beau Nash (Bath's master of ceremonies in the 18th C), curious watercolour of one of Bath's buidings (hopital?).
