Autotypes folding Maps
A fabulous travel guide with two large folding maps, 8 autotypes [ a kind of carbon photograph] woodcuts, etc.
Based on the work of James Tunstall. This is the sixth edition [ and best!] of a work that saw many incarnations.
DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH THE INFERIOR EDITIONS FROM THE 1880'S
THIS EDITION WITH FAR MORE PAGES, ETC..
This edition with 471 pages PLUS 66 pages of ads, [many pictorial] , advertisements to the front, etc..
CONDITION: The maps in good order & the text block tight , unfoxed, & barely toned. with the exception of those leaves facing the autotypes, which have some offset toning [see image of the title page for an example]. The slipcase with a half calf chemise, rubbed, as is the binding. A bit shaken & with minor cracking inside the front hinge, but very solid & attractive overall, and Otherwise? OK !
