Bath: Published By Order of the Mayor and Corporatio. 1797 Poor/No Jacket. First Edition. Inscribed By Author. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Paper covered boards are very stained, top cover is detached. Leaves very loose. Spine is missing.
Title page has a very old repair and is stamped with the name J.H. Rudemare. Book is complete with 14 engraved plates. Light foxing on endpapers. INSCRIBED on end paper "From the Aurhor to the Abbt Rudemare".

Meyler, 1797. 4to, pp. [4], xxvi, 85, with 13 fine woodcut plates and a woodcut title-vignette by Whitley and 1 litho plate; an excellent, large and fresh copy in 19th century half polished calf over marbled boards, spine gilt. First edition of this charming piece of provincial printing and illustration. The bold, white on black woodcuts depict Roman antiquities, mostly architectural fragments with inscriptions, which were found within the preceding 10 years by workmen in Bath. The Rev. Richard Warner describes the fragments faithfully and gives a detailed historical interpretation of each. He had obtained a special fund from Bath council to clean and look after these antiquities. The work was published by order of the Mayor of Bath.Not in Borroni.
