Longman, Hurst etc., London, 1813 (1st edition).  Large format, approx. 30cm x 23.5cm. Green/blue paper boards.  xii + 40 pages plus ‘Works on Fine Arts’ (4 pages).
 
Britton’s volume on the splendid fourteenth century Gothic church of St.Mary, Redcliffe, Bristol, first published in 1813 and incorporating a series of perspective views of the church’s exterior and interior from drawings by Charles Wild and others, and plans etc. (12 tissue-guarded full-page illustrations). The last chapter is concerned with the poet Thomas Chatterton, who had a close association with the church.
 
Boards and spine worn, some loss to spine ends.  Some foxing, mainly to tissue-guards and related pages.
 
A relatively scarce volume.
