Original green cloth with gilt lettering and and rule with detailed picture of the abbey in gilt. Cover a little rubbed, but the color and gilt bright. Full page advertisements at rear for various Bath enterprises including healing waters, Grand Pump Room Hotel, spirit merchants &c, and "Gandy & Son, Habit Makers, Civil, Military & Naval Tailors, Outfitters and Undertakers."; partially unopened. Frontis engraving and five other illustrations complete as listed plus extra-illus trated with a photographic plate of the nave. Bookplate of the Royal Institute of South Wales on front endpaper. Manuscript comment from former owner regarding the inspiration for the abbey pinned on free end--paper verso. Contemporary inked signature on title page.
