Notes:The history of modern Wiltshire was issued in 14 parts between 1822-1844. The present work became pt.1 of v.1 of in the set entilted: The modern history of South Wiltshire.With a frontispiece portrait of the author painted by H. Edridge and engraved by H. Meyer.

        Covers:
The folio comes in paper covers with black lettering to upper and a cloth spine.
The covers are rubbed and grubby with old repairs to the corners and edges on upper. The corners are curled on the rear cover and the cloth spine is starting to lift at the top & bottom of the rear cover.
The bindings have virtually come away from the text block.
        Inside:
Front endpapers are detached with a couple being stuck together. There are minor singular brown spots to the prelims and the odd ones elsewhere in the book. The pages are untrimmed and dog-eared on the corners. Six of the plates are detached which have minimal spotting otherwise are bright. Quite a few of the pages are strained at the strings and the rear endpapers are torn.
A scarce book which is complete with all the plates as called for.
The book weighs just over 2 kgs
