Bound in full tree calf, each volume has been professionally rebacked retaining the original boards, raised bands, elaborate gilt tooling, leather title labels. Some light wear and small abrasions on boards, i only mention this as an aside because each volume is in excellent condition. All hinge joints are strong, there are marble edges to pages. Bindings are in superb condition.
Internally, 5 of the six volumes bear the bookplate of Sir Robert Peel, and all six volumes bear the bookplate of William Robert Wellesley (Viscount Peel )
