Colored vignette on title page and final page of text plus 28 very fine colored aquatint plates. Folio, 19th c. gilt and blind-embossed diced calf; neatly rebacked preserving the original gilt spine. First edition. Abbey Scenery 41. Old bookplate; ink gift inscription, Tingewick, March 25th, 1869. The text and plates are clean and bright throughout. Binding rubbed at edges, but tight, sound, and attractive. Half-title leaf present.
