Selling here is a three volume set of William Upcott's 'A Bibliographical Account of the Principal Works relating to English Topography...', printed in London by Richard and Arthur Taylor, 1818. The first edition.
The contents lack the frontispiece to volume three only, otherwise complete, collation reads: [6], lxii, 642; [4], 643-1068; [2], 1069-1576, with engraved frontispieces to volumes one and two as called for. Some irregular pagination at points.
8vo, three volumes, uniformly bound in worn period half calf over marbled paper covered boards. Spines gilt with five raised bands, green morocco gilt title label to each volume. Page edges speckled. Pale green endpapers.
The books measure 14.5cm by 23cm.
Condition: The bindings are holding firmly and in fair - good condition, the backstrips rubbed and sunned, corners bumped, boards rubbed and scuffed. Small crack at headcap of volume one otherwise hinges good. Textblocks firm but inner joints cracked, upper pastedown to vol 1 tenuously held. Contents in good condition, with a few spots, marks and creases at points. Frontis to both volumes more heavily spotted / foxed with offsetting to title pages.
