A wonderful collection of 50 engraved scenes from Ireland, Britain and Canada by Newman. The book is 21.7 cm wide and 13.5 cm top to bottom. Produced in around 1842 I think- one plate is dated 1841. There is no title page or publishing information, just 'Newman Budge Row London' or variations of this on the engravings. Each plate has a tissue cover for protection. The back cover is detached and the cover has wear to board and leather. The prints have some yellowing and spotting around page edges. Some scenes include Blarney Castle, Cork, Limerick, Deal Castle, St Pauls, Guernsey, Isle of Wight, Tintern Abbey, Custom House Quay London, Niagra Falls, Montreal, Oxford, Salisbury, Hereford, Cirencester, Broadstairs, Greenwich, the new Royal Exchange London, Nottingham and Lancaster.
The prints could be removed and framed individually. |
