General NotesBound in contemporary half leather with marbled boards. They measure approx. 28.4cm x 22.3cm x 3.6cm (ave). The boards are a bit surface worn and scuffed and the extremities are bumped and rubbed. The spines are rather surface worn and decoration is faded. There are 2 recent morocco labels to each spine. The top edges of the spine coverings are a little chipped and frayed. The hinges are lightly rubbed, and there has been some neat repair to the lower rear hinge of volume II. The bindings are firm. Internally, there are recent endpapers to the front and rear of each. All the title page have some offsetting from their respective frontispieces. The frontispiece of volume III has some patchy browning/foxing, and a couple of small edge stains. All the volumes have some occasional scattered foxing, with the odd light scattered finger mark or light spot. The late lists have little pencil markings from collation. Else the contents of each are in rather lovely, clean, crisp and bright condition.
