Contemporary speckled calf. Spine with six raised bands and red morocco title label. Two leaves at the rear of volume in closely matching facsimile have been neatly inserted; worming to lower blank margins mainly to the early and late pages and not affecting the text.

Two bookplates to the front pastedown, one being an eighteenth century plate of Anne Hervy Mildmay, the other a modern Laurence family plate.

Published in Sherborne, 1742.
Attributed to John Stuckey of Sutton Court near Bristol and reprinted from the Magna Britannica of 1727. The Geographical Description comprises 118 pages with detailed entries on towns and villages, large and small.
Contemporary speckled calf. Spine with six raised bands and red morocco title label, folio, 360 x 230 mm (14 x 9 inches) all edges speckled - 206pp. (originally issued in 52 parts with the 'Sherborne Mercury'). Two bookplates to the front pastedown, one being an eighteenth century plate of Anne Hervy Mildmay, the other a modern Laurence family plate.
