General Notes | Memorials of Oxford the engraving by John Le Keux from rawings by F. Mackenzie (3 vols.)
3 Octavo volumes uniformly half bound in burgundy morocco with marbled paper covered boards that are heavily worn and age darkened, joints/hinges are weak on volumes 1 and 2 and covers are detached but present on volume 3. Earlier owner ink name on front free end paper of each volume. Content generally good but age toned and foxing that varies from light to heavy. All plates and illustrations are present- many of these are steel plate engravings that are highly detailed, but some of these are foxed as well. Overall, a fair set- with the main faults listed. Note, the shipping outside the USA or priority shipping will be more expensive than an average book due to weight and size of the set. |
