Pamphlet identified in "The Bibliographer's Manual of Gloucestershire Literature - Hyett & Bazeley Vol I 1895"

Containing a compendious acount of its dimensions etc etc
Printed in the year 1712. Price two pence. Octavo. 8 leaves unsigned
Title & "to the inhabitants of Glocester" pp1-2, description pp3-14. Fairs in Gloucestershire one page.

Several pages on the Bigland work...
Sir T.Phillips bought the MSS c1838 then printed 50 copies at his Middlehill press
but paused for many years before resuming publishing in 1870. He died in 1872.

The bibliography also mentions Abel Wantner as the author of "The Natural History of Glos [1686] folio 3 leaves.

Pages of original mid-18th century pamphlet numbered 3 to 14.
7 smaller sheets inserted - one blank and the rest with notes in ink, in a very small and neat C18th hand.

Later note in pencil on first blank sheet:
Brockley or Andrews. This Vol appears to be one of Abel Wantners MSS

Sheet sewn in before first blank:
Rudder (altered to Bigland's) Manuscript note books being the original manuscripts made by him in his travels through the county of Gloucester in collecting materials for writing his history of the county. Warranted originals purchased from Mr Webb at Cirencester by M.Andrews ????? Oct 24/43.

Small scrap sewn on top of preceding sheet:
appears to be a list of books with prices added in a different ink on the right
A foot note in the latter ink says "A small Gloucestershire MS which Mr Piggott bought the other day is sent"

Another note says
"???? of the Rudder (altered to Bigland) MSS"

Another note says
"See other vols of Bigland MSS in the Sir T.Phillips' Library"
