R. Baldwin, 1774. 4to. Comtemporary full calf, expertly rebacked preserving the original lettering piece; vi + pp. 144; illustrated with 14 engraved plates; the illustrator G. Cobb's copy with his pencil inscription to the recto of the front free endpaper; some light offsetting to a few plates, light spotting to one or two leaves. First editon. Edited anonymously with material taken largely from Francis Price's A series of particular and useful observations. upon that admirable structure, the Cathedral-Church of Salisbury, published in 1753. Thirteen of the fourteen plates are from the same source, re-numbered with new binding directions. The deeds and charters in the account of Old Sarum were translated and transcribed by the Chapter Clerk, William Boucher, who later helped William Dodsworth in his An historical account of the Epicopal See, and Cathedral Church of Sarum, or Salibury published in 1814.
