Rather browned. Old repairs to splitting along the centre fold. |
The rare first state, published in Amsterdam in the Mercator-Hondius-Jansson atlas of 1644. The map is actually of Merioneth and Montgomery. When it appeared in Jansson's "Atlas Novus" of 1646, the title had been changed to "Mervinia et Montgomeria Comitatus" and relocated to a more elaborate cartouche in the lower left corner, and three shield of arms added. |
