| By Henry Venn Lansdown. A view from the south with the tower on the skyline.Signed "Lansdown 1857" in bottom right corner. Very similar to the Bath Victoria Art Gallery's sepia watercolour. Venn Lansdown was a local artist who made many sketches of Bath buildings. He visited the tower and attempted to ingratiate himself with Beckford. He published his recollections in a pamphlet. |
