A late 18th century view looking North East across the old course of the river Avon from a point on the southern bank opposite Hotwells Road. Recognisable features (from left to right) include Brandon Hill, St Michael's Church Tower, the tower and nave of Bristol Abbey, the tower of St Mary Redcliff church. There are also several conical glass houses or pottery kilns and vessels with sails in the foreground.
