Composition derived from the Dance of Cupids, an engravingl by Marcantonio Raimondi, reputedly after a design by Raphael, with the addition of two Cupids: one playing bagpipes, and the other a spinet. Not in the BM. An example exists in the Royal Collection "attributed to Blanchard". This is presumably the elder Auguste Blanchard pere who was active c. 1766-1841. |
