Finely executed 18th century master drawing. Unsigned but almost certainly the work of Jean-Baptiste Pillement. Two gypsy boys are offering caged song birds and lavender to a group of three young ladies, seated on the ground beside a river, with a pair of swans arriving from the right. On the far bank, a small ferry boat is being rowed and a number of figures are promenading. |
